Hey all,
If you use OC Transpo, or not, here is a piece of news in case you've been hiding under a rock.
They would like to include a bus pass fee into tuition so that everyone at Ottawa U. gets a bus pass included in fees. This is controversial, as not everyone wants to be imposed fees for a pass but the bus pass fees would be lower for all/"greater good" through a deal. As well the movement affects Ottawa U and Careleton U students. This said, the student vote has already occurred on the main campus. If you would like to follow this see:

I wish I had heard about the voting dates before it happened! I think it's unfair that there isn't a chance to opt-out. Athough, I understand that would make the deal for the lower price impossible. If bus passes were transferable like the ones in Toronto, then those of us who won't use the OC pass can sell it to someone who will so we can recoup the extra fees.

I sent an e-mail to GSAD to ask if this affects all of us or just undergrads because I wondered if we would have received an e-mail notifying us to vote if it affect grad students as well?? Will post GSAD answer to know if it affects when I receive an answer.

As stated above, I followed up with GSAD asking if this vote was to affect grad students such as ourselves. He replied the following, stating that WE HAVE YET TO VOTE ON THIS ISSUE:
