That is really cool. I liked the part at the end about the researcher being able to share his work with millions of people through YouTube, and how he'd like to see more of this happen.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the book "Wikinomics" by Don Tapscott. It discusses how mass collaboration is changing the economy, and companies that have made some of their intellectual property open (i.e. accessible to the public) are reaping the rewards from people's expertise. This is becoming the new driver of innovation, and many companies are changing their business models to embrace open source.
I have that book on request at the library. I'm looking forward to reading it.
ReplyDeleteI love the spirit of innovation and the idea of taking something that a lot of people have access to and turning into something that far fewer people can access because the technology is still so expensive. That white board thing was so cool.
